The War years were a busy time for movement, with only about 250 people in the parish in 1921 who had  been living there just 10 years before. Families welcomed their husbands and sons home from the War but with special remembrance to those who did not return including Nicholas Palmer, Alfred Hutcheson, Cecil Pike and Lawrence Geake. Also in memory of young John Hall Lovell who chose to emigrate to Canada aboard RMS Titanic in 1912.
