These records are about pauper apprenticeships, all of which were in husbandry for the boys or housewifery for the girls. There are three types of records including the apprenticeship indentures or formal agreements, separate consents by Justices of the Peace in later years (as people became more aware of abuses, for example in the northern textile mills) and one document showing the transfer of an apprentice to a new master upon the decease of his original master.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: italic;\">If you
